Bertucci's, North Brunswick, NJ

Date: 08/13/2016 Location: North Brunswick, NJ Pizza Ordered: "The Bertucci" Personal Pepperoni Pie Website: www.bertuccis.com/ Bertucci's is an Italian restaurant chain that spans the northeast coast of the United States from Virginia to Massachusetts. The restaurant doesn't solely focus on pizza, though there are several pizza options. One of the things I appreciate most about the Bertucci's Restaurant Chain is their use of multi-grain dough. Not many pizzerias offer this healthy option, and if it is offered, many pizzerias multi-grain dough tastes awful. Not Bertucci's. This pizzeria has phenomenal multi-grain pizzas and if you are into a healthier pizza, check it out! The location my girlfriend and I visited was located along a major highway (Route 1). There was ample parking and there is a large movie theater within 200 yards of the restaurant, making this a good spot to go out to eat after a movie. The interior was warm and comfortable. Staff was polite

Pizano's Pizza & Pasta, Chicago, IL

Date: 08/22/2016 Location: Chicago, IL Pizza Ordered: Classic Deep Dish Website: www.pizanoschicago.com/ Though this restaurant is not in New Jersey, I just had to post a review on it. My girlfriend and I were in Wisconsin for a wedding and out flight out was cancelled so we had to scramble last minute and got a flight out of Chicago early the next morning. After driving to our hotel, we decided to go into the city to see the Chicago Bean (or more correctly known as the Cloud Gate). While in the city, we decided it would be sacrilegious if we did not try a true Chicago Deep Dish pizza. After a bit of research and a desire not to walk or drive far, we settled on Pizano's, a fairly large pizzeria only a block from the park. The interior was busy with customers and waitstaff. There were photographs that adorned the walls and the seats were very comfortable. The pizzeria also housed a bar and several TVs where people could watch the latest sports games. Everything felt very authent

Carraba's Italian Grill,East Brunswick, NJ

Date: 09/05/2016 Location: East Brunswick, NJ Pizza Ordered: Pepperoni, Peppers, and Onions Website: https://www.carrabbas.com/ Usually I avoid chain pizzerias like the plague, but Carrabba's and Bertucci's are different beasts entirely. Carrabba's is an Italian grill in it's own right. The main courses of pasta, chicken, fish, etc. can stand alone by themselves, but I find their pizza extremely delicious. Carrabba's also has the best bread, oil and spices as well as mozzarella sticks. Their restaurants are very similar no matter where you go, as I have been to several NJ locations and one in South Carolina. They have ample seating consisting of booths and tables and usually have a bar top table that overlooks the cooking area. The staff is always very friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable. As far as the pizza goes, it's the perfect size. I have always preferred spicier sauce over tangy and Carrabba's really delivers. The cheese is well distributed a

Lenny's Pizza and Pasta, Hillsborough, NJ

Date: 09/05/2016 Location: Hillsborough, NJ Pizza Ordered: Margherita Slice and Grandma Slice Website: www.lennyspizzaandpasta.com/hillsborough.html Lenny's Pizza and Pasta is located in a small mall close to the Municipal Building in Hillsborough, NJ. The location seems small from the outside, but has a much more spacious interior. There are a wide variety of slices on display behind the counter, so the options are plentiful. I decided to go with the Grandma and Margherita, two of my favorites. The pizzeria has a fairly nice dining area if you choose to eat in and has different sized tables and booths to accommodate different crowd sizes. The pizza itself looks very tasty, but wasn't very flavorful. Their margherita slice uses no sauce, only tomatoes, which is one style that I don't mind, but in order for that to work, the tomatoes have to be flavorful. The crust was dry and bland and the cheese left much to be desired. Even the spices added to the margherita slice didn&

Douglass Pizza & Grill, New Brunswick, NJ

Date: 4/24/2017 Location: New Brunswick, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain and Cheese Steak Website: http://douglasspizza.com/ Douglas Pizza and Grill is located directly beneath the Rockoff Hall complex on George Street. There is not much as far as street-front parking is concerned, but there are meter spots further down the street and parking for Rockoff around the side of the building. The establishment has a moderately large seating area and a good variety of beverages to choose from. There is also a good selection of different toppings to choose from at the counter. My apologies for not taking a picture before partially devouring the plain slice. I almost forgot to grab a picture entirely. Anyway, the plain slice had a nice, crispy base with good quality cheese and sauce. The crust was fluffy and delicious. The cheese steak slice had just the right amount of steak. I was thankful they kept the tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese because it really helped shape the flavor nicely. The slic

-Now Closed- Sal's Gourmet Pizzeria & Restaurant, Hillsborough, NJ

Date: 4/22/2017 Location: Hillsborough, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain & Margherita Website: [Expired Domain] Phone: (908) 369-6944 Sal's Pizza is located in the CVS mall near Auten Road Intermediate School along Triangle Road. This pizzeria has ample parking and a very nice setting to sit for a lunch or dinner with a group or a date. The staff is generally friendly and the owner goes out of his way to make the customer enjoy their experience. He once hooked me up with an extra Sicilian slice to take back to the college dorm with me. The pizza is decent with a good sauce to cheese ratio and a thin, fairly crispy base. The crust had good flavor and was more of the fluffy variety. Nothing offensive about the plain slice, it was a good, middle of the road pick as far as Hillsborough is concerned. The Margherita slice really stood out as quality. The sauce seemed to have even better flavor than the plain slice and the cheese was especially fresh and delicious. The crust was o

Jimmy's Grill, New Brunswick, NJ

Date: 3/29/2017 Location: New Brunswick, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain and Chicken Bacon Ranch Website: jimmysnewbrunswick.com/ Jimmy's is a small pizzeria tucked next to Hidden Grounds on Easton Avenue. Historically, Jimmy's was one of my favorite spots to grab a late night slice. The owner is a great guy and super polite. There is plenty of indoor seating and usually a decent selection of slices to try, as well as a full menu including fat sandwiches and wraps. The plain slice was pretty decent and had a subtle garlic taste. The crust was fluffy and the cheese was fresh. The chicken bacon ranch slice was pretty good. There was a fine amount of ranch applied which combined well with the cheese to create good flavor. The chicken wasn't anything to brag about, nor was the bacon. It seemed pretty standard and didn't stand out to me. Overall the slices were average for the area but the staff is the real reason to enjoy a late night slice here. They are always good for some c

Pizza Brother's, Hillsborough, NJ

Date: 03/17/2017 Location: Hillsborough, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain and Pepperoni + Sausage Website: mypizzabrothers.com/ I've known about Pizza Brothers for quite some time but have never really been in the area to grab a slice from them. Apparently, I have been missing out for years. The plain slice was stellar, offering a great cheese to tomato sauce ratio. The base and crust were pleasantly fluffy and the overall flavor was delicious. This is perhaps one of the best plain slices in the Hillsborough area for me. Their sausage and pepperoni slice was what you would expect, and the sausage (the ground variety) was both crispy and tasty. The pizzeria itself has classic booth seating with appealing pizza paddle artwork on the wall. There's plenty of parking and the staff is very polite and helpful. The establishment is very clean and as I mentioned before, the plain slice is one of the better ones I've tasted in the area of my hometown. I will definitely be stopping in aga

Alfonso's Pizzeria and Restaurant, Hillsborough, NJ

Date: 3/20/2017 Location: Hillsborough, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain pan slice and meat lovers Website: http://www.alfonsos.net/ Alfonso's Pizzeria and Restaurant is tucked in a strip mall at a busy intersection off of 206. There is ample parking and the restaurant is separated into a dining in section and a takeout section. The dine-in section has a good atmosphere with tasteful decorations and a very comfortable feel to it. The staff was very polite and happy to do what they could to make my experience positive. The best part about dining in is the bread that gets brought to the table. The bread is delicious and fluffy, pairing well with butter. Though I haven't tried a standard plain slice yet, the pizza I have sampled is very decent. The personal pie I had was half sausage and half plain and used the same base and crust as the bread that was delivered to the table. The sausage was of the chunky variety and tasted great. In the normal slices I ordered, the pan slice had fres

Angelo's II, Hillsborough, NJ

Date: 03/15/2017 Location: Hillsborough, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain and Margherita Website: [None] Phone number: (908) 359-2526 Angelo's II is located in a strip mall along Amwell Road on the post office side of the road. There's never a problem with parking and there are good seating options inside. Angelo's has long supported township recreation and has hundreds of photos of teams they've supported plastered all over the wall. It's always nice to have a local business support the town. The staff was polite and service was quick. The plain slice was pretty good, but could have used some more sauce. The cheese was rich and greasy and the base was very crispy. Crust was crispy as well. The margherita was very good, sporting fresh, rich tasting cheese. The cheese does have the tendency to slip off when you bite only a potion, so be warned of this. The sauce is very tasty and it seems that there are very thin slices of tomatoes on the pizza as well. I quite like thi

Papa's Tomato Pies, Robinson, NJ

Date: 03/13/2017 Location: Robbinsville, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain Tomato Pie Website: www.papastomatopies.com/ Before I review this pizzeria, you should know that Papa's Tomato Pies is considered the oldest family owned pizzeria in the United States and has ranked very high, if not the best on most national and New Jersey top pizzeria lists. The history and rankings definitely contribute to the hype surrounding this pizzeria and I am here to tell you that they are well deserved. Papa's Tomato Pies is a cash-only, pizzeria that does have an ATM on site and ample parking outside what looks to be a typical house. There is a very nice seating area and a separate section for takeout. The staff is very polite and friendly and the service is relatively quick. The pizza is definitely some of the best I've ever had. The sauce is delicious with fresh, flavorful tomatoes and delightfully rich cheese that stretches nicely when you pull a slice from the pie. The base of the pizza is c

Knights Express Pizza & Grill, New Brunswick, NJ

Date: 3/02/2017 Location: New Brunswick, NJ Pizza Ordered: Chicken Bacon Ranch and Plain Website: www.knightsexpresspizzagrill.com/ Knights Express is a small pizzeria on Easton Avenue closer to Tacoria, Paulie's Pizza and what was the NJ Book Store. Parking at this establishment isn't very convenient, as it is street parking and Easton Ave at this section is usually very busy. The interior itself has a decent amount of room for sitting at normal sized tables, which have the Rutgers Knight carved into them (a nice touch). There is a very good drink selection and another positive for this pizzeria is that it's open earlier than nearly every other pizzeria on Easton Avenue. You can purchase breakfast at this pizzeria if you wanted, which is a nice convenience. There's also an ATM inside. The plain slice was run-of-the mill. Nothing too special about this slice, but it wasn't bad. The crust was fluffy and the slice had a salty taste to it. It wasn't overly gr

Krispy Pizza, New Brunswick, NJ

Date: 2/21/2017 Location: New Brunswick, NJ Pizza Ordered: Margherita and Palermo Girlfriend: Vodka Sauce and Plain Website: krispypizza.com/ When I heard that a Krispy Pizza was coming to Rutgers, New Brunswick I was ecstatic. I knew immediately that it would steal the top of the best pizza in New Brunswick list having been to the Jersey City location and really enjoyed the pizza there. I can honestly say that the New Brunswick location is the same excellent quality as the Jersey City location. The atmosphere is very much the same with a large mural on the wall and a very Italian cashier. There is more indoors seating in the New Brunswick Krispy Pizza than the Jersey City location, but there is also some outdoor seating available which will definitely get used during the spring and summer months. Parking isn't easy for this location. There are meter spots on Hamilton Street but a majority of the people coming here for lunch will be College Students living in the Yard or on

La Familia, New Brunswick, NJ

Date: 2/10/2017 Location: New Brunswick, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain and Buffalo Chicken Website: http://www.lafamilianj.com/index.html As part of my quest to review all of the New Brunswick pizzeria's that service the Rutgers off-campus student population, I decided to stop in a La Familia for lunch. The first thing I appreciated was the "lunch special" where you buy two slices and get a free water or can of soda. Since two slices are my usual, this deal is much appreciated. The staff was friendly and polite and the atmosphere is very casual. Parking isn't very plentiful here, but also not very necessary when the targetted demographic is primarily off-campus college students in walking distance. I went with the standard plain slice and the buffalo chicken slice as there weren't many options available. A little surprising, considering it was lunch time, but it didn't bother me. The plain slice was just that, pretty plain in taste and didn't stand out especi

Pizza Town U.S.A., Elmwood Park, NJ

Date: 01/05/2017 Location: Elmwood Park, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain Website: [None Available] Phone: (201) 797-6172 Pizza Town USA is a retro pizzeria on the side of Route 46. It's a pizza landmark in the state of New Jersey that I first found out about in Pete Genovese's book, "Slice of Jersey." This iconic pizzeria is cash only and has a few separate windows depending on if you're getting slices, a whole pie, subs, zeppolis, etc. The look and atmosphere of this establishment is reminiscent of a classic boardwalk pizzeria, featuring indoor wooden picnic tables for seating and a retro paint job. The prices are worked out perfectly accounting for New Jersey tax to come out to the whole dollar. The slices especially are among the most affordable I've ever eaten. The plain slices were absolutely tremendous. The cheese is amazingly fresh and the sauce is rich and delicious. The crust in incredibly crispy with a good crunch. The slices I ate easily are among the

Pizza Bistro, Sparta, NJ

Date: 01/04/2017 Location: Sparta, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain and Chicken Francaise Website: http://www.spartapizzabistro.com/ Pizza Bistro in Sparta serves a decent specialty slice. There is a small parking lot on the side of this pizzeria that is shared with one or two other businesses. There is seating inside and it can be a little tight at times, but there is also a tremendous selection of specialty slices available to the consumer. Personally, it was hard to decide what to try with so many good looking slices, but I ended up going with the Chicken Francaise slice as my wildcard. The plain slice was pretty run of the mill. Good enough cheese and sauce with a nice crispy bottom and a relatively thin and crispy crust. The Chicken Francaise slice was tremendous. The chicken was flavorful and the cheese/sauce that was included in addition the mozzarella cheese was such a great pair to the rest of the slice. If I lived in Sparta, I would quickly become a regular and cycle through the

Paulie's Pizza, New Brunswick, NJ

Date: 01/02/2016 Location: New Brunswick, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain, Peppers and Onions Website: http://www.pauliespizzanb.com/index.html Paulie's Pizza is located near the intersection of Easton Avenue and Somerset Street. There is on-street parking, but no parking lot. I had not heard much about this establishment prior to eating here and I wish I had. The pizza here was pretty good! The plain slice had a good cheese to sauce ratio, sporting fresh cheese and quality sauce. The cheese on this pizza was especially stringy and stretchy. The slices are perfectly sized to fold in half for convenient eating. This is the recommended way for eating this slice, as the bottom of the pizza has a tendency to bend easily and dip under the pressure of the sauce and the cheese. The peppers and onions slice was also quite good. Instead of just throwing the toppings on a plain slice, extra cheese was added to the slice to hold on the toppings better. The extra cheese not only changed the appear

PJ's Grill & Pizza, New Brunswick, NJ

Date: 12/18/2016 (and later: 12/31/2016) Location: New Brunswick, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain and Chicken Bacon Ranch, then Plain and Buffalo Chicken Website: http://www.pjsgrill.com/ PJ's Grill is located on Easton Avenue in the epicenter of the Rutgers night-life. Sitting between College Avenue Campus and a large population of off-campus housing, this pizzeria is one of the most popular in the Rutgers are. I've had many friends express their opinions to me that PJ's Grill is among the best pizza in New Brunswick. There is more room for seating than most pizzerias in the area and there is usually a large selection to choose from when deciding on a slice to eat. While the establishment lacks in parking, there is some available on Easton Avenue and the nearby streets, though most of the customers are within walking distance to their house. Despite the praises by many, the pizza is pretty average. The plain slice is fairly decent with fresh cheese and good quality sauce. The

California Pizza Kitchen, Bridgewater, NJ

Date: 11/28/2016 Location: Bridgewater, NJ Pizza Ordered: BBQ Chicken (and tried the plain pizza my girlfriend ordered). Website: http://www.cpk.com/ The California Pizza Kitchen is located on the ground floor of the Bridgewater Commons Mall. It's nearby one of the entrances, and thus close to a parking lot for easy access. This establishment, in addition to pizzas, has a variety of cocktails and a decent wine selection. The bread that came with the meal was soft and warm with a pleasant taste when dipped in the oil seasoning. The plain pizza was decent, featuring fresh cheese and pretty standard tomato sauce. The crust and bread used for the pizza didn't stand out too much and was relatively lacking in flavor. The BBQ Chicken Pizza, while not much of a pizza, was very good. There was a bit of cheese, though not much, and no tomato sauce. Instead of tomato sauce, a delicious barbeque sauce was used instead and onions and parsley were added in additio

RU Grill & Pizza, New Brunswick, NJ

Date: 11/22/2016 Location: New Brunswick, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain and Chicken Caesar Website: http://www.rugrillandpizzanj.com/ Another review for a Rutgers Pizzeria. This location is on Easton Avenue near Old Queens and the Scarlet Night Club. It's a tight little pizzeria with not much room for sitting in and eating. The slices remind me of frozen pizza I've eaten. The crust doesn't even seem like it should belong to a pizza. It's bready and like cardboard. The plain slice was totally unremarkable and lacked both flavor and sauce in general, practically. The chicken caesar slice only reminded me why I have never tried that combination before... IT DOESN'T WORK. The dressing tasted funny and I doubt I would have even enjoyed it on a salad. I couldn't even finish the slice. Clearly my fault for thinking this was a good idea. Overally, I'm honestly surprised this place is still in business considering the competition in New Brunswick. In conclusion, you ca

1000 Degrees Pizza, Bridgewater, NJ

Date: 11/12/2016 Location: Bridgewater, NJ Pizza Ordered: Tomato Pie (and I tried some of my girlfriend's plain pizza) Website: http://www.1000degreespizza.com/ 1000 Degrees Pizza is located across from the Bridgewater Shopping Mall. They have a chipotle-style ordering bar where you can pick toppings if you'd like or you can order off the menu. There is ample seating and a warm atmosphere. The ingredients are incredibly fresh and the pizza is cooked to perfection in a quality oven. The only problem that I experienced with this establishment was the pitiful competency of the chef crafting the pizzas. This pizzeria has all the ingredients of success, yet the assembly was the fatal flaw. Perhaps it was just the time that we were there, or maybe the staff member was new, who knows? I can assure you that a tomato pie does NOT look like what I was served. Just putting four blobs of sauce on cheesy bread does not make a tomato pie. How foolish I was to think they could pull off a

Giovanneli's, New Brunswick, NJ

Date: 10/25/2016 Location: New Brunswick, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain and Pepperoni Slice Website: www.giovannelispizza.com/ Giovanneli's Pizza is one of the few on the opposite side of Hamilton Street along Easton Avenue. For some, it's out of the way, but for those in the vicinity of the Golden Rail Inn and the Corner Tavern, this is a convenient stop before home. The pizzeria is a little tight and can get quite crowded late in the evening. There are places to sit, but most take it to go. This is also one of the few pizzerias that opens before noon, which is why I didn't choose anything unique for a specialty slice, as there wasn't much at 11:30 am when I stopped in. I have heard, however, that their buffalo chicken pizza is decent...not sure I believe it. The slices I ordered were both lacking in the sauce department and were greasier than I liked. The crust and base was bland and flavorless. There was really nothing interesting happening with this pizza for me. When

Roman Gourmet, Hillsborough, NJ

Date: 01/16/2017 Location: Hillsborough, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain and Chicken, Bacon, Ranch Website: http://www.romangourmetnj.com/ Roman Gourmet is located in the corner of a busy shopping center in Hillsborough, NJ. There is decent parking, though crossing the lot can be a challenge sometimes with the amount of people and traffic in this strip mall. Once inside, one finds an ample amount of seating, as well as a pleasant atmosphere with cozy lighting. Another plus is the vast drink options this place offers, including Boylan Sodas, one of my favorites for birch beer. This establishment has gone through several changes in the past few years to become what it is today. The first time I ate pizza from this restaurant was when I was a child and it was called "Franks Pizza." This eventually moved on to "G&M Pizza," and then "Nelson's Corner Pizza," before finally becoming the "Roman Gourmet" it is today. Initially, I was upset with the ch

Pizza City, New Brunswick, NJ

Date: 10/24/2016 Location: New Brunswick, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain Slice and Chicken-Bacon-Ranch Slice Website: www.pizzacitynewbrunswick.com/ Pizza City is a small pizzeria tucked in the corner off of Easton Avenue. It's right next to one of the greatest burger joints in New Brunswick, Diesel and Duke, but that's another story. This pizzeria looks small from the outside, but has a reasonable amount of seating area on the inside with classical pizzeria booths and benches. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I got the usual plain slice and then I decided to go with the chicken-bacon-ranch as a specialty. I personally am not a huge fan of chicken on pizza like many other college students seem to be. I've never even bothered with the CBR slice before today but seeing the slice behind the glass told me I had to try it. The CBR slice was absolutely fantastic. The chicken wasn't too dry and was flavorful. The bacon was just the right amount of crispy and the ranch was ri

Daniel's Pizza, New Brunswick, NJ

Date: 10/11/2016 Location: New Brunswick, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain and Cheese Steak (Also tried the remainder of Kristen's Penne Vodka slice) Website: N/A [Phone Number: (732) 545-0186] I have heard tales of the fabled Daniel's pizzeria for over a year before I tried it. The pizzeria is a hole in the wall and it shares its space with an asian food / sushi establishment. There are exactly two tables, one of them broken, so if you lean on it, it might collapse. The fridge is stocked with water, coke, sprite, or diet, all the sodas being in cans. Parking is non-existant and if it weren't for the bland, zero-frills sign, you wouldn't even know there was a pizzeria in the building. All of that being said, this pizza is some of the best I've had in the New Brunswick area. The plain slice was crispy and the crust had perfect crunch. The cheese and sauce is fresh and delicious. The herbs and spices are subtle and not overpowering. The cheese steak slice tasted li

Ta-Ta's Pizza, New Brunswick, NJ

Date: 9/27/2016 Location: New Brunswick, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain and BBQ Chicken Website: www.tatas-pizza.com/ Ta-Ta's, not to be confused with the Ta-Ta's most men have a fascination with, is a small pizzeria (and practically convenience store) located along Hamilton Street in New Brunswick, NJ. The pizzeria doesn't open its doors until around 4:00 pm, but stays open until close to 3:00 am. Being open after the bars in the area close and being right in the center of a major area of off-campus housing makes this establishment fairly popular. My girlfriend and I went to try this pizzeria after a few adult beverages. The pizzeria is located about 100 yards from the house I'm renting with my friends, so we just took a quick walk over. Parking is practically non-existant because of street parking, but this doesn't hurt a majority of the customers who are walking home from the bar anyway. Initially I was concerned that the alcohol I consumed might make the pizza taste b

Panatieri's, Hillsborough, NJ

Date: 9/26/2016 Location: Hillsborough, NJ Pizza Ordered: Margherita and Plain Website: www.panatierispizza.com/ Panatieri's is a New Jersey Chain of pizzerias that originated in Bound Brook. The owner, Chris Panatieri still owns and operates the original location. There are nine total locations throughout New Jersey, but this review is for the Hillsborough location. The pizzeria itself replaced another Hillsborough Pizzeria called "Portabello's" which, from what I remember, served a decent plain slice. The setup is similar, with a large counter that displays many of the options available and ample indoor seating. Parking is also quite simple, as the lot is shared with a nearby Kohls, so there are plenty of spots. While I initially missed the disappearance of Portabello's, after trying Panatieri's I have nearly forgotten why I enjoyed Portabello's in the first place. Panatieri's pizza is very good with a thin and crispy bottom and delicious bread

New World Pizza, Skillman, NJ

Date: 09/11/2016 Location: Skillman, NJ Pizza Ordered: Peppers and Onions Pie Website: www. newworldpizza.com/ New World Pizza in Skillman, New Jersey is a hidden gem for sure. This pizzeria is my favorite of the local pizza shops near my home town. The owners of this establishment are phenomenal people and the staff is always extremely friendly. I come often enough that they know what I'm going to order before I even ask. New World Pizza is located just down the road from Montgomery High School. While parking can be somewhat limited, I've never really had a problem finding a spot. The inside has some seating, but since the kitchen takes up a large portion of the pizzeria, there is only enough room for about twenty people. There is a nice patio area outside that offers some outdoor seating during the summer months. I have tried a variety of slices over the years of coming to this pizzeria including the stuffed cheese-steak slice, the stuffed chicken Parmesan slice, margheri

Victor's Pizza, Hillsborough, NJ

Date: 08/08/2016 Location: Hillsborough, NJ Pizza Ordered: Pepperoni Slice Website: https://about.me/victorspizzanj Victor's pizzeria is my favorite local pizzeria to stop and grab a slice. The owner, Danny, is a really cool dude and very friendly. The pizzeria is located in a shopping mall along Amwell Road, right after crossing over Route 206. This central location puts Victors in the center of town to compete against the other 5 pizzerias within a 10 minute walk: Alfonsos, Angelos, Pizza Hut, Dominoes, and Roman Gourmet. On of the advantages of the location for Victor's is the proximity to the High School and the Park & Ride. This is the closest pizzeria to the High School and right next to an area where students park their cars, so the student crowd will often stop in and grab one of the massive to-go slices. I have fond memories of grabbing a slice after school and then going to the martial arts school I work at for an evening of teaching.

Joe's Pizza, Hillsborough, NJ

Date: 08/04/2016 Location: Hillsborough, NJ Pizza Ordered: Large Plain Pie Website: www.joesfamilypizzeria.com Joe's Pizza in Hillsborough, NJ has existed as long as I remember. As a child, our family ordered from this pizzeria quite regularly and I have come to enjoy their pizza wholeheartedly. The pizzeria is in a shopping mall area on the side of Route 206, which runs straight through Hillsborough. It's on the side of town closer to Montgomery and very close to the Hillsborough Diner. The establishment seems small from the outside, but does have ample seating for larger crowds and parties. The interior of the restaurant gives off a local Italian restuarant vibe and there is a large shelf full of authentic Italian products near the counter. There are several options for slices, pies, and calzones on the counter to choose from. The last time I was in, they even had one of the TVs playing the news in Italian with English subtitles. The pizza has a thin crust that is on the
