Sal's Pizza is located in the CVS mall near Auten Road Intermediate School along Triangle Road. This pizzeria has ample parking and a very nice setting to sit for a lunch or dinner with a group or a date. The staff is generally friendly and the owner goes out of his way to make the customer enjoy their experience. He once hooked me up with an extra Sicilian slice to take back to the college dorm with me.

The pizza is decent with a good sauce to cheese ratio and a thin, fairly crispy base. The crust had good flavor and was more of the fluffy variety. Nothing offensive about the plain slice, it was a good, middle of the road pick as far as Hillsborough is concerned. The Margherita slice really stood out as quality. The sauce seemed to have even better flavor than the plain slice and the cheese was especially fresh and delicious. The crust was of the thin, crispy variety and reminded me of similar Brooklyn thin crust slices I've enjoyed in the past. It was definitely a hit. Bonus points for stocking Stewarts sodas, which I find pair very nicely with a good slice of pizza.

Italy's Restaurant & Pizzeria, Phillipsburg, NJ

Date: 6/21/2019 Location: Phillipsburg, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain, White, and Sicilian Website: https://italysrestaurant.com/#home Italy's is a small local pizza joint that has the appearance of your typical neighborhood pizzeria. Lovely paintings of Italy adorn the walls and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I was extra hungry, so I went with my usual plain slice and added a white slice and a Sicilian slice. The meal came with complimentary bread that was pleasantly fluffy and had a good mix of herbs and spices on it. The plain had pretty decent sauce and cheese and the charred crust was good, but a bit burnt in some places. The white was very fluffy with a good helping of cheese. The square slice had really great sauce and parmesan and a nice amount of fluff to the base. Overall, I would say Italy's puts out a good average slice of pizza.

Krispy Pizza, New Brunswick, NJ

Date: 2/21/2017 Location: New Brunswick, NJ Pizza Ordered: Margherita and Palermo Girlfriend: Vodka Sauce and Plain Website: krispypizza.com/ When I heard that a Krispy Pizza was coming to Rutgers, New Brunswick I was ecstatic. I knew immediately that it would steal the top of the best pizza in New Brunswick list having been to the Jersey City location and really enjoyed the pizza there. I can honestly say that the New Brunswick location is the same excellent quality as the Jersey City location. The atmosphere is very much the same with a large mural on the wall and a very Italian cashier. There is more indoors seating in the New Brunswick Krispy Pizza than the Jersey City location, but there is also some outdoor seating available which will definitely get used during the spring and summer months. Parking isn't easy for this location. There are meter spots on Hamilton Street but a majority of the people coming here for lunch will be College Students living in the Yard or on ...

Star Tavern, South Orange, NJ

Date: 7/25/2017 Location: South Orange, NJ Pizza Ordered: Plain and Works Website: www.startavern.net/ Star Tavern is a busy bar and pizzeria in South Orange, New Jersey. There is some parking at the actual building and there is a lot next door with additional parking (which you'll need to use if you go around dinner time). The wait staff is very helpful, polite, and works quick! The atmosphere is very cool and somewhat retro but also quite noisy as you'd expect a popular bar to be. There are arcade games, booths, plenty of posters, neon signs, and a bar seating area. The pizza is fantastic. Star Tavern has some of the thinnest crust I've ever experienced on a pizza. The base was super thin and pleasantly crispy. The ingredients were all delicious and I find myself agreeing with Pete Genovese when he calls this the gold--standard of thin crust pizza in NJ. Just remember that because the crust and base is so thin and because the pizza tastes so good, you'll likely ...
